Strategic Transformation: Humber Polytechnic’s School of Applied Technology 

With the introduction of a new learning commons, Humber College was in a position to repurpose their original library, timing this work with a series of other deep renovations. In association with Montgomery Sisam Architects. ACi adapted 60,000 square feet for the School of Applied Technology and Campus Security Services. The two-year project spanned four occupied buildings and required careful phasing to keep the campus running.

Targeted changes created technology-rich classrooms, chemistry and robotics labs, makerspaces, workshops, offices, and student services. The library became a bright academic hub. Shared spaces line the glazed perimeter; enclosed rooms sit at the core behind glass partitions, drawing daylight deep into the plan. Old library shelves returned as wood wall cladding. The result is practical, adaptable, and ready for further change.
