A Roadmap for Transition: Burlington Public Library

In 2017, Burlington Public Library asked how its Central and Tansley Woods branches—both products of the 1960s—could keep pace with their communities.

Space audits and consultation with staff and residents informed a Functional Space Program and Master Library Plan. The plan sets priorities and budgets through 2037. It improves access, circulation and operations while adding flexible meeting rooms, maker and audiovisual spaces, and stronger links to the outdoors. The result is not a fixed answer but a framework the library can adapt over time.
